If you are an Ontario farmer, who has previously participated in an EFP workshop, and looking to update your EFP, the eEFP may be for you. The familiarity your farm business has with EFP through past participation will be a determining factor in whether the eEFP is well suited to your needs. Please also consider the benefits of participation in an EFP workshop.

There is no cost to participate. Before starting to complete a workbook of your farm, please read carefully and acknowledge all of the following statements:

  1. I/We understand the EFP is a voluntary education and risk assessment tool for Ontario farm businesses, aimed at supporting the review of the farm operation using the EFP workbook, and the development of an EFP Action Plan.
  2. I/We understand that only eEFP users from Ontario farms are eligible to submit workbooks for review and consideration for Verified Complete status by OSCIA. EFP workbooks completed by non-farm users and all users from outside of the Province of Ontario will not be reviewed by OSCIA.
  3. I/We understand the EFP is to be completed by the farm owner/farm manager/farm operator/farm family business members directly involved in the day-to-day operation of the farm. The EFP farm review process requires direct knowledge and experience of the farm’s history and practices. The EFP is not intended to be completed by a third-party consultant on behalf of a farm business.
  4. I/We understand that Ontario farm businesses who are participating in the program for the first time are strongly advised to first attend a scheduled in-person workshop. To view the current schedule, register, or get local contact information, visit http://www.ontariosoilcrop.org/oscia-programs/workshops-webinars/environmental-farm-plan/
  5. I/We understand that data will be routinely collected by OSCIA from all EFP workbooks and EFP Action Plans submitted electronically by Ontario farm businesses for review. Data collected will be aggregated with data from other individual workbooks or Action Plans, and may be used for the purposes of evaluating, auditing and administering and promoting the EFP program. This includes but is not limited to sharing the aggregated information for analysis with AAFC, OMAFA and with appointed third parties. To protect privacy, EFP data collected from an individual farm business (i.e. unaggregated) will not be shared by OSCIA.
  6. I/We understand the EFP workbook material is copyright by the Ontario Farm Environmental Coalition, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFA). The contents of the EFP workbook, including the electronic version, may not be reproduced without permission from these agencies.
